Job Description Summary
Your tools, fixtures and measuring equipment determine how precisely we manufacture gas turbines, steam turbines and generator rotors. You design these operating resources at the Birr site and help ensure that people worldwide are reliably supplied with electricity.

You are part of the Tooling Engineering (BMK) team in Birr. You accompany tools, measuring equipment and production equipment from the first idea to their use in production. You work closely with production, engineering and suppliers. You contribute your own ideas and improve existing solutions.
Job Description
The gas and steam turbines as well as generator rotors that leave our plant in Birr are created with tools, fixtures and measuring equipment that you develop. You help shape production concepts and ensure that energy plants worldwide run reliably.
Your Tasks
•You are responsible for the design and construction of special tools, measuring equipment and fixtures.
•You ensure that all operating resources are available on schedule, whether from in-house production or external partners.
•You define and improve tooling, measuring and production concepts together with production and engineering.
•You develop machining strategies, calculate cutting data and maintain tool lists and master data in TDM (Tool Data Management).
•You coordinate procurement: quotes, cost comparisons and checking technical drawings.
•You monitor process performance, tool consumption and costs and initiate improvements.
Required
•Technical education in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology or industrial engineering, for example Höhere Fachschule (HF) or equivalent experience.
•Experience in the design of production tools, fixtures and production equipment
•Knowledge of machining, tooling concepts and measuring strategies
•User knowledge of SAP (enterprise resource planning software) and TDM or a comparable system
•Fluent German and good English, spoken and written
Advantageous
•Experience with tools or fixtures for turbines, compressors or other large rotating machines
•Experience in coordination with technical suppliers
